Rothoschool on tour Athens

Rothoschool on tour, what an inspirational day. More wood for Greece, less CO2!

Last week, we had the pleasure of presenting BEAR at the “Rothoschool on Tour, Athenshttps://www.rothoblaas.com/school/design/rothoschool-on-tour-grecia

It was an inspiring and enlightening day dedicated to building with wood under the motto, "More wood, less CO2." The event featured a diverse lineup of Greek and international speakers who shared insights on various wood construction methods, highlighting examples from both Greece and abroad.

The seminar was an interesting exchange of knowledge and experiences, aimed at inspiring broader support for sustainable construction. It also provided a valuable opportunity for networking within Greece's niche community dedicated to building with wood.

Our journey to make BEAR a reality—Greece's first multifamily home predominantly constructed from Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT)—has been challenging. Sharing our experiences with this group of architects, engineers, and developers, all eager to advance sustainable construction practices and materials in Greece, was significant for us. We left the event feeling motivated and encouraged by everything we learned and the positive feedback we received.

One particularly inspiring comment came from an architect colleague who said, "What an amazing project! I wish I could give my kids a wooden house to live in." These words still echo in our minds, strengthening our passion for promoting wooden construction.

Whatever it takes…
