Today we had a very interesting conversation with a colleague architect about the future of building with wood in Greece. And really, this is exactly what this project is all about: a case study that we hope will inspire others to follow suit, that will dispel many of the myths associated with wooden constructions regarding earthquakes, insulation, rot, and moreover, that will be a source of inspiration when it comes to reconstructing and developing of the existing buildings around us. Bear is an example of how we perceive architectural sustainability on an environmental, social, and economic level. And we believe that although it’s small in size, this apartment building will lead others down a path that is already largely marked out elsewhere, becoming a model for what is bound to follow in Greece as well, sooner or later.
